In celebration of the largest single donation to date for SHN and a quickly impending donor recognition reveal ceremony, SHN required a donor recognition exercise that also included a refresh to the Emergency unit hallway/entrance as well as a donor recognition kiosk in the main atrium.

Design Process

  • Worked closely with SHN Foundation, communication department, emergency staff
and facilities team to create donor recognition that fits with the brand identity
    and properly recognizing the donor

  • Collaborated with SHN Foundation to develop a dramatic reveal ceremony
that would receive attention from stakeholders, community and media

  • Engaged No 9, an environmental arts organization, to secure the donation of artworks
that would further enliven the Emergency entrance and adjacent Main Atrium

  • Exterior brush aluminum lettering with shadow lit lettering

  • Repairs, paint and revised lighting to interior and exterior spaces

  • Donor recognition in entrance hallway

  • Donor re recognition kiosk with video in the Main Atrium

  • Curated and installed artworks in Emergency Atrium and Main Atrium

  • Custom gift created for donor fabricated with the same look and feel as the kiosk

  • Donor recognition ceremony that included floor graphics, street signs and elaborate,
push button, drop curtain to reveal new naming at the ceremony

The renaming of SHN Emergency Unit provided the opportunity for a refresh to the Emergency entrance experience. The donor recognition ceremony received significant media attention for SHN and community.

"The Lal donation was the single largest donation to SHN in its history. Within a short time frame, we needed to refresh the Emergency Department environment and properly celebrate our donor. Weav worked closely with our entire team to achieve all our goals and objectives. The inspiring unveiling ceremony received incredible media attention and Weav was with us every step of the way to make it happen. In addition to the entrance refresh and donor recognition moments, Weav used their networks to secure artwork donations for SHN that further enhanced the entrance experience in both Main Atrium and Emergency Department." — Verna Chen - SHN Foundation, Associate Vice President, Donor Engagement
